Congress recently passed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, legislation that cut nearly $1 trillion in funding for the Medicaid program which provides health coverage to millions of American children, seniors, people with disabilities and low-income families. These cuts are expected to result in 10 million Americans becoming uninsured, hundreds of rural hospital and nursing home closures across the country, and a rise in health care costs for all Americans, not just those on Medicaid. How concerned are you, if at all, about the consequences of this law on health care costs in general and your access to care?
Recent guidance recommends COVID-19 vaccines only for adults aged 65+ and people (including children) with at least one high-risk health condition (e.g., chronic conditions, immunocompromised status). Emergency use authorizations for these vaccines have been removed for most groups. Prior to this change, the CDC (i.e., Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) recommended COVID-19 vaccines for everyone 6 months and older. Based on the new limitations on COVID-19 vaccine eligibility described above, are you eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine this fall/winter?
Individuals who are not eligible under the updated guidance will still have the option to pay out of pocket for the vaccine, as it may not be covered by insurance. - Research Insights Today
